This one is really all over the map, with originals by Tim and Jimmy Ghaphery, and covers of James Blood Ulmer, Pharoah Sanders and Count Basie.
Also notable is the cover photo of the building known as Hotel X from which the band got their name. The building is located in the Oregon Hill neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia and has been inhabited by many musicians and bands.

In 1994 Hotel X contributed an original composition, "One Way Street" to the trailer of the film "Hands of Fate" by Chris Quinn which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. Chris Quinn's documentary film "God Grew Tired of Us" is the 2006 winner of both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at Sundance.
